Job summary

PageUp People Limited is seeking a Commercial Vehicle Operator Adjunct Instructor in Avondale, LA. You will lead classroom instruction, yard practices, and road driving training for prospective commercial drivers.

Responsibilities include teaching safety concepts, regulations, defensive driving, and vehicle inspection procedures; maintaining accurate student records; and serving as a liaison to third‑party testers. A valid CDL Class A and 5 years of driving experience are required.

Qualifications

• Clean driving record: no more than 2 offenses or accidents in past 2 years and no DUI in past 15 years.
• Ability to operate motor vehicle, conduct inspections, and report concerns.
• Must be at least 26 years of age.
• Ability to communicate technical information and safe driving skills to students with varying levels of experience.
• Provide constructive feedback and individualized coaching to students.
• Available to teach classes Monday through Friday, day or evening.
• Strong organizational, documentation, and interpersonal skills.
• Strong work ethic, tenacity, self-motivation, and problem solving.
• Serve as a role model and mentor for students.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Key responsibilities include:
Lead classroom instruction, yard practices, and road driving training; introduce all safety concepts and regulations, defensive driving and safe driving techniques, vehicle inspection procedures, and manual and digital record keeping; closely monitor and document student progress, identify any gaps and provide individualized training and remedial instruction as necessary; maintain proper and accurate student records and documentation, including student attendance, competency records, and progress reports; maintain a professional, respectful, and positive learning environment; serve as liaison to third‑party tester.

Required Education: High School Diploma or GED

Required Experience: A MINIMUM of 5 years verifiable tractor trailer driving experience; strong knowledge of commercial vehicle safety, applicable FMCSA and state CDL requirements;

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

• - Must possess a clean driving record: no more than 2 driving offenses or accidents in the past 2 years and no DUI in the past 15 years
• - Must be physically able to operate motor vehicle, conduct vehicle inspections, and report mechanical and safety concerns
• - Must be at least 26 years of age

Required Licenses or Certifications: MUST have a valid CDL Class A license.

Preferred Education: Driver Training Instructor License is not required, but is preferred

Preferred Experience: Prior teaching or driver-trainer experience
