Job summary

Hy-Vee Inc. is seeking a Truck Driver to join the Truck department. The role involves operating company vehicles and equipment in a safe and professional manner to ensure prompt delivery, unloading/loading, and completing required paperwork.

You will drive semi-tractors and trailers to scheduled destinations, meet delivery times, and perform pre/post-trip inspections, while adhering to Federal Motor Carrier Safety regulations and DOT requirements.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; Accredited truck-driving school preferred.
• Must be 21 years of age and have a valid CDL; over-the-road driving experience preferred.
• Ability to understand and follow verbal and written instructions; write identifying information.

Responsibilities

• Maintain physical requirements as dictated by federal driving guidelines.
• Pass warehouse simulation test.
• Operate semi-tractor and trailer to scheduled destinations safely and professionally.
• Meet scheduled delivery times.
• Perform customer service at locations including unloading and delivering orders; including pharmaceutical orders; return of authorized merchandise to distribution center.
• Fuel and hook equipment; conduct pre and post-trip inspections; monitor equipment and report defects.
• Responsible for all paperwork including daily logbook, load information sheet; pharmacy check-in; pre and post-trip inspection sheets.
• Assume driver responsibilities per Federal Motor Carrier Safety Handbook Rules and Regulations.
• Report to work as scheduled and on time.
• Cleaning of trailer when needed.
• Other duties as assigned by management.
