Job summary

Carroll County Government is seeking a Truck Driver to support the Bureau of Roads in Westminster, MD. You will operate Class B vehicles and light equipment for road maintenance and drainage projects, ensuring safe, timely work while following all safety rules.

Responsibilities include debris removal, patching, snow removal as needed, and routine inspections. A Class B CDL, DOT card, and flagging certification (or ability to obtain) are required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required or equivalent.
• Up to one year of related experience may substitute the minimum.
• Class B CDL required for driving county vehicles.
• DOT physical card required.
• Maryland Flagging Certification or ability to obtain within six months.

Responsibilities

• Operate Class B vehicles for road maintenance under Foreman's direction.
• Perform storm drainage and patching work as needed.
• Maintain roads by removing debris and performing general labor.
• Inspect vehicles and equipment; complete DOT inspection reports.
• Follow safety rules; work outdoors and handle varied hours.
