Job Summary
Safely operates a heavy‑duty truck to perform assigned duties on transfer routes.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Operate vehicle in accordance with OSHA, DOT, and all local, state, and federal requirements and company expectations, maintaining a clean and safe vehicle.
- Perform pre‑ and post‑trip inspections using the standard DVIR; note all issues for corrective review/repair.
- Immediately report any unsafe situations or service calls to the Operations Manager or Dispatch before attempting service.
- Participate and cooperate in all scheduled training, briefings, and meetings as required by the Operations Manager.
- Work closely with Operations Managers to improve route efficiencies and identify problem or unsafe accounts.
- Perform all duties as scheduled by the Operations Manager or Dispatch, assisting other company drivers as directed.
- Notify the Operations Manager of any incidents, accidents, injuries, or property damage.
- Notify Dispatch or the Operations Manager of issues as prescribed by the Service Machine protocol, including blocked containers, potential missed pick‑ups, or problems that arise on the route.
- Communicate customer requests or issues to Dispatch or the Operations Manager.
- Completely dump all containers and leave the customer’s location clean and free of debris.
- Complete and submit customer tickets when excess yardage must be removed.
- Position containers on the customer’s property so that lids are properly replaced, containers are set upright, and containers do not block driveway entrances or traffic.
- Follow route assignments throughout the day and complete all documentation when checking‑in at the end of the route.

Qualifications
- Education and Experience
None required; no prior work experience needed.
- Certificates, Licenses, and Other Requirements
Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) Class B is required. Applicants must be at least 18 years of age, successfully complete a pre‑employment DOT drug screen, physical, and background check (including previous employment check and motor‑vehicle record review), and maintain an acceptable driving record.
- Minimum hourly rate: $22.25 - $30.87, depending on experience, qualifications, and location.
