Job summary

Southway Crane & Rigging, Inc. is seeking an experienced full-time CDL Truck Driver in Savannah, Georgia. Candidates must hold a Class A CDL (No Automatic Endorsement) and have at least 3 years of commercial driving experience.

The role includes loading/unloading cargo, logging deliveries, fuel/refuel, and communication with dispatchers. On-site skills tests and background/drug checks apply. The company offers health benefits, paid vacation, per diem, and potential overtime hours to support

Qualifications

• Must have a current state issued Class A CDL Driver's License (No Automatic Endorsement).
• 3 years of commercial driving experience.

Responsibilities

• Load and unload cargo.
• Record amount and type of cargo being delivered.
• Take orders for new deliveries and drive long distances.
• Fill up on fuel, clean truck, and wash windows.
• Report to a dispatcher any incidents encountered on the road.
• Monitor road conditions and watch for traffic congestion.
• Follow all applicable traffic laws.
• Inspect their trailer before and after the trip and record any defects they find.
• Follow accident procedures if an accident occurs.
• Keep a log of their activities.
• Report serious mechanical problems to the appropriate personnel.
• Keep their truck, and associated equipment, clean and in good working order
• Other duties as assigned

Southway is looking to add experienced full-time truck drivers to our growing Branch. The following are a list of requirements; You must meet all the requirements below to be considered for this position.

Summary: Candidate must possess a minimum of 3 years of experience. You must be able to pass a background check and drug test. All candidates will perform a skills verification test on site before hire.

• Eyesight sufficient for operating a motor vehicle, inspection of equipment, and completion paperwork.
• Hearing sufficient for telephone contact and interpersonal communication with Customers and coworkers.
