Job summary

Management & Training Corporation (MTC) operates the East Texas Treatment Facility in Henderson, TX. We seek a dependable CDL holder with a passenger endorsement to safely transport inmates to and from the facility, complying with MTC and Texas directives.

Schedule is full-time with shifts varying based on transport needs. Responsibilities include security searches, inmate supervision, and accurate record-keeping.

Qualifications

• Valid Texas CDL with Passenger Endorsement and a clean driving record.
• High school diploma or GED required.
• Must complete TDCJ Correctional Officer Training or Pre-service Training on hire.

Responsibilities

• Safely transport inmates to and from the facility in compliance with MTC and TDCJ directives.
• Search for contraband and supervise inmates in housing, work and other areas.
• Maintain custody and security of inmates including observation and reporting.
• Perform security functions including pat searches, by squatting and bending as needed.
• Transfer and transport inmates by walking or in vehicles; restrain and secure assaultive inmates when necessary.
• Respond to emergencies, assist injured staff or inmates, and use force if required.
• Read and apply information from inmate records; prepare and maintain records and reports.

Education

CDL Driver's License with Passenger Endorsement (Texas)

High school diploma or GED

Completion of TDCJ Correctional Officer Training/Pre-service Training
