Job description

• Safely operate a large vehicle to collect and transport solid waste, recyclables, and other materials
• Load and unload the truck, and operate the mechanical attachments for loading, compressing, and dumping
• Check dumpsters for unacceptable waste and repair needs, and retrieve recycling containers
• Utilize mechanical knowledge to perform pre-trip inspections and ensure the proper functioning of the vehicle
• Wash the interior and exterior of the truck
• Report needed repairs
• Drive along a predetermined route to designated areas
• Be willing to work in almost any type of weather conditions
