Job summary

Republic Services is recruiting a Driver Trainee in Indiana to train for a commercial driver’s license (CDL). The program covers classroom work, on-road training, and hands-on experience, including a truck loan, with the goal of moving into a Driver role after CDL attainment across Residential, Commercial, Industrial, or Roll-Off lines.

Upon successful CDL completion, you will serve as a full Driver and complete duties per the line of business, while adhering to Republic Services’ safety

Qualifications

• No prohibitions to acquiring a commercial drivers’ license.

Responsibilities

• Complete Republic Services’ CDL training program, including classroom study, on-route training, driving experience, and loan of a truck to take the CDL exam.
• After CDL, perform Driver duties in one of the company lines of business (Residential, Commercial, Industrial, Roll-Off).
• Perform pre- and post-operation vehicle inspections and report safety issues.
• Read route sheets, service customers, operate heavy/CMV trucks, and unload/ dispose of waste at designated facilities.
• Identify unsatisfactory waste containers and monitor vehicle condition to minimize downtime.
