Job summary

Republic Services in Sulphur, LA is seeking a Driver Trainee who will be trained to obtain a CDL and advance to a professional Driver across our residential, commercial, industrial, or roll-off lines.

The program includes classroom study, on-route training, driving experience, and support to pass the CDL exam; after obtaining a CDL, you will complete twelve months of employment with Republic Services and contribute to safe and efficient waste services.

Qualifications

• No prohibitions to acquiring a commercial drivers’ license.
• Willingness to complete Republic Services CDL training program.
• Ability to operate heavy or commercial trucks following safety policies.

Responsibilities

• Successfully complete Republic Services’ CDL training program, including classroom study and on-route training.
• Complete twelve (12) full months of employment after obtaining a CDL.
• Learn to perform pre- and post-operation vehicle inspections for safety and compliance.
• Learn to safely operate a heavy or commercial truck along a designated route to service customers.
• Learn to load/unload refuse and dispose of materials per company procedures.
• Follow all required safety policies and procedures.
• After obtaining a CDL, perform all responsibilities of a Driver in one of the company lines of business.
• Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
