Job summary

CCBC invites applications for a part-time adjunct instructor to teach non-credit Community Education courses focused on CDL-A and B commercial vehicle training. Courses are offered offsite near the Dundalk Campus, with pay commensurate to education and experience.

Instructors should have teaching experience and expert knowledge of CDL topics; completion of required forms and documentation is expected by CCBC.

Qualifications

  • Must possess a high school diploma or GED.
  • Must be a subject matter expert.
  • Computer proficiency preferred.
  • Experience teaching or training in an adult setting preferred.
  • Three years’ experience driving vehicles requiring a CDL-A license is required.
  • A current, valid Maryland Commercial Driver’s License - Class A(CDL-A), with Air Brake certification is required.
  • School Bus (S), Passenger (P), Hazmat (H), Hazmat/Tanker (X) orAll (TPXS) endorsements are preferred.
  • Must have a current D.O.T. Physical Card.

Responsibilities

  • Teach college-level non-credit Community Education courses focusing on CDL-A and B commercial vehicle training.
  • Complete all forms and documentation related to the course and required by the college.
  • Coordinate with CCBC staff to schedule offsite classes at locations near Dundalk Campus.

This part-time position teaches college level non-credit CommunityEducation courses that focus on CDL-A and B commercial vehicletraining.

Instructors should have experience teaching and have an expertknowledge of the topic they are proposing to teach. Instructorswill be required to complete all forms and documentation related tothe course and all documentation required by the college.

Location: Offsite near Dundalk Campus

Pay rates for the non-credit courses in Continuing Education arecommensurate with education and experience qualifications. Pleasesee salary scales posted on our website.

  • Roth 403(b) is a savings feature that is available when youopen a 403(b) account. The Roth 403(b) savings feature allowsemployees to contribute after-tax dollars and then withdrawtax-free dollars from their account upon retirement. The Roth403(b) savings feature is only offered by the following vendors:TIAA-CREF and VOYA Financial Advisors, Inc. Adjunct Faculty, PartTime Associates and Full Time employees are eligible to save forretirement using the Roth 403(b) savings feature. Employees maycontribute traditional pre-tax 403(b) dollars and Roth 403(b)post-tax dollars simultaneously. The savings limits are combinedfor the Traditional 403(b) and the Roth 403(b) contributions.
  • Deferred Compensation Plan — 457(b) offered through VOYAFinancial Advisors, Inc. The 457(b) salary reduction authorizationform is needed. The form is available on SharePoint Forms/HumanResources Forms.
