Job summary

Beltway Companies in Baltimore is seeking a Full-Time CDL Test Driver to join our team. The role focuses on road tests of medium- and heavy-duty trucks after repairs, ensuring issues are resolved and quality standards are met.

You will monitor vehicle performance, document results for the Service Manager and Technicians, and comply with DOT and safety regulations. CDL license and at least five years’ experience are required; company offers strong benefits and career growth.

Qualifications

• Valid CDL A or B license with a clean driving record.
• At least 5 years of commercial driving or equivalent experience.
• Experience operating or testing medium- and heavy-duty trucks.
• Basic knowledge of truck braking, engines and transmissions; good communication.

Responsibilities

• Perform road tests on medium- and heavy-duty trucks following repairs.
• Verify reported issues are resolved and repairs meet quality standards.
• Monitor vehicle performance: braking, steering, acceleration, etc.
• Document and communicate test results to the Service Manager or Technicians.
• Follow DOT, company, and safety regulations while operating trucks.
• Support the service team in maintaining customer satisfaction.

Position Overview

• Perform road tests on medium- and heavy-duty trucks following completion of repairs and service
• Verify that all reported issues have been resolved and repairs meet quality standards
• Monitor vehicle performance, including braking, steering, acceleration, shifting, engine response, and other systems
• Document and communicate test results clearly and accurately to the Service Manager and/or Technicians
• Follow all DOT, company, and safety regulations while operating trucks
• Support the service team in maintaining a high level of customer satisfaction

Requirements

• Valid CDL B or A driver’s license with a clean driving record required
• At least 5 years of commercial driving or equivalent mechanical/service experience required
• Prior experience operating and/or testing medium- and heavy-duty trucks
• Basic mechanical knowledge of truck systems (brakes, engines, transmissions, etc.)
