Job summary

Beltway Companies is seeking a Full-Time CDL Test Driver in Maryland to join our team. Pay ranges from $20 to $25 per hour, depending on experience.

Responsibilities include road testing medium- and heavy-duty trucks, ensuring repairs meet quality standards, and documenting test results for the Service Manager and Technicians. Ideal candidates will have a valid CDL A or B license with a clean driving record and at least 5 years of commercial driving or related mechanical experience.

Qualifications

• Valid CDL A or B license with clean driving record.
• Minimum 5 years of commercial driving or equivalent mechanical/service experience.
• Experience operating and testing medium- and heavy-duty trucks preferred.
• Basic mechanical knowledge of truck systems (brakes, engines, transmissions).

Responsibilities

• Perform road tests on medium- and heavy-duty trucks after repairs and service.
• Verify issues are resolved and repairs meet quality standards.
• Monitor vehicle performance including braking, steering and engine response.
• Document and communicate test results to Service Manager/Technicians.
• Follow DOT, company, and safety regulations while operating trucks.
• Support service team to maintain high customer satisfaction.

Position Overview:

• Perform road tests on medium- and heavy-duty trucks following completion of repairs and service
• Verify that all reported issues have been resolved and repairs meet quality standards
• Monitor vehicle performance, including braking, steering, acceleration, shifting, engine response, and other systems
• Document and communicate test results clearly and accurately to the Service Manager and/or Technicians
• Follow all DOT, company, and safety regulations while operating trucks
• Support the service team in maintaining a high level of customer satisfaction

Requirements

• Valid CDL B or A driver’s license with a clean driving record required
• At least 5 years of commercial driving or equivalent mechanical/service experience required
• Prior experience operating and/or testing medium- and heavy-duty trucks
• Basic mechanical knowledge of truck systems (brakes, engines, transmissions, etc.)
• Ability to communicate effectively with service staff and management
