Job summary

SRM Concrete is seeking a safety-focused Tanker Operator with a Class A CDL to transport cement from terminals to SRM plant locations. You will perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections and ensure accurate delivery paperwork in line with DOT regulations.

Ideal candidates have a minimum of 2 years’ tanker experience, a clean driving record, and strong time-management and communication skills to coordinate with dispatch and plant personnel.

Qualifications

• Valid Class A CDL with optional Tanker Endorsement.
• Current DOT Medical Card.
• Minimum 2 years’ proven experience driving Class A tanker trucks.
• Clean driving record with no serious tickets or accidents in the last 5 years.
• Knowledge of DOT regulations and safety standards for material transport.
• Physically able to lift up to 100 pounds and perform lifting/bending/climbing.
• Excellent time management to meet delivery schedules.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills with plant personnel and customers.
• Willingness to undergo SRM’s pre-employment screenings.
• Positive, “go-getter” attitude and commitment to SRM’s 5 Principles of Service.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate a Class A tanker truck, transporting cement from terminals to SRM plant locations.
• Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure vehicle safety and compliance.
• Complete and maintain logbooks, delivery documentation, and other required paperwork per DOT regulations.
• Communicate with dispatch for delivery instructions and route updates.
• Ensure secure loading and unloading of cement to prevent spills or contamination.
• Follow established routes, schedules, and safety procedures for transporting materials.
• Provide professional customer service at delivery sites representing SRM Concrete.
• Report any vehicle defects, accidents, or traffic violations promptly.
• Stay current on safety regulations, company policies, and industry best practices.
