Qualifications

• Minimum Education: None required
• No experience required; six (6) months of experience as a package handler or switching/CDL operator preferred.
• Must have a valid driver’s license and maintain a DOT file.
• CDL Class A to operate in interstate commerce is required
• Ability to understand and follow safety instructions and sort packages correctly
• Use of basic yard equipment and hand tools in a fast-paced environment

Responsibilities

• Move trailers within the yard and connect/disconnect from doors as needed
• Coordinate trailer movements with management or central control
• Document trailer moves in the Yard Management System or using switcher cards
• Perform pre- and post-trip inspections on switcher equipment
• Adhere to yard switching safety procedures and guidelines
• Perform other duties as assigned
