Job summary

You will follow established routes, monitor sites, assist with unloading recyclables, perform basic records, and help at collection sites. A valid North Carolina CDL with tanker/trailer endorsements is required; physical work and exposure to environmental hazards are expected.

Qualifications

• Valid North Carolina CDL Class A or B with tanker/trailer endorsements.
• Experience operating transfer and tanker trucks in sanitation or similar field.
• Ability to read and follow written and oral instructions.
• Ability to perform medium to heavy physical tasks up to 50 lbs.
• Ability to work independently and maintain safety at landfills.

Responsibilities

• Operate transfer trucks to transport solid waste and recyclables to landfill or disposal sites; tanker for leachate.
• Make and maintain simple records of work activities.
• Monitor unloading at collection sites or landfill for regulatory compliance.
• Check fuel, tire pressure and fluids; assist mechanic when needed.
• Assist citizens with unloading recyclables and help with site cleaning.
