Job summary

City of San Antonio seeks a dependable operator for a large commercial refuse/recycling vehicle to service assigned routes. You will transport materials to disposal sites and supervise crews as needed.

Requirements include six months of truck driving experience or SA Ready to Work CDL program and a Texas Class B CDL. Pre-employment checks, safety procedures, and daily reporting are part of the role.

Qualifications

• Six months of truck driving experience or completion of SA: Ready to Work CDL program.
• Valid Texas Commercial Class B Driver's License.
• Pre-employment drug testing and background checks required.
• Official transcripts, diplomas, certifications, and licenses may be requested.

Responsibilities

• Operate a large commercial refuse/recycling vehicle on assigned routes.
• Ensure collection workers have necessary equipment and inspect vehicles for proper function.
• Collect garbage, recyclables, brush and other materials on routes and transport to disposal sites.
• Communicate with supervisor on route changes and hazardous conditions.
• Complete daily activity reports and maintain cleanliness of the vehicle.
• Lift/carry loads up to 40 pounds as required.
