Job summary

Valet Park of America is seeking a CDL Shuttle Driver for a full-time day shift in Hamden, CT. The route is local, transporting college students and faculty, with a 9am-4pm schedule and occasional earlier shifts or weekend standby. A CDL with passenger endorsement and CT license are required, along with a valid medical card.

Shuttles are newer 25-passenger vehicles with wheelchair lifts. After 90 days, health/dental insurance is available; one year of service earns paid vacation.

Qualifications

• Must be over 20 years of age due to insurance requirements.
• A valid CT driver’s license with CDL and passenger endorsement is required.
• A valid medical card is required.
• Background checks, SORI checks, drug and driving tests will be conducted.
• Customer service experience is a must.

Responsibilities

• Greet patrons politely and assist them as needed.
• Safely shuttle customers to various destinations.
• Open and close doors for patrons.
• Adhere to traffic laws and drive safely.
• Communicate with customers and co-workers via radio.
• Complete required pre-trip inspections.
• Record passenger counts and trip times.
• Complete daily operation paperwork.
• Operate wheelchair lift and secure chairs when needed.
• Assist in setting up and breaking down equipment.
• Maintain shuttle cleanliness and assist in lot duties.
• Participate in paid training and room for advancement.

CDL Shuttle Driver - FT Day Shift

Full-time Regular Hamden, CT, Hamden, CT, US

DRIVER- Shuttle Drivers needed to drive in Hamden, CT. This is a local, steady route, transporting college students and faculty members.

We provide shuttle services for Quinnipiac University. This position is for a FT drive. The primary role will be 9am-4pm Monday through Friday.

This Driver may need to cover 6:45am-3pm shifts as well, and will be needed to stay until 6pm at times. One standby shift on either Saturday or Sunday each week may also be required.

CDL drivers start at $22.50/hour.

The vehicles are newer walk-on 25-passenger shuttles with wheelchair lifts that are cleaned and maintained regularly.

Full-time help is eligible for Health/Dental insurance available after 90 days (50/50 split) and paid vacation after one year. Room for advancement!

Shuttle Driver- Job Description

The job responsibilities of a Shuttle Driver may vary depending on the location where the employee is scheduled to work. The responsibilities include but are not limited tothe following:

• Greeting patrons in a polite manner and assisting them in any way we can
• Safely shuttling customers to various destinations
• Opening and closing doors for patrons
• Adhering to all traffic laws/signs to ensure the safest possible operation of our shuttles
• Communicating effectively with customers and co-workers. This includes radio contact with management, shuttle drivers, and lot attendants
• Completing required pre-trip inspections to meet federal as well as company safety requirements
• Recording passenger counts and trip times
• Completing necessary paperwork involved in daily operations
• Assisting in equipment set up and break down (i.e. signs, cones, etc.)
• Sweeping shuttles and removing debris to ensure cleanliness
• Filling in as a lot attendant when needed
• Communicating mechanical problems with shuttles to management
• Complying with company procedures for shuttle operations
• Operate wheelchair lift as needed, and secure chairs with tie-down as needed
• Health/Dental insurance is available after 90 days (50/50 split)
• Earn up to 3 weeks time off by year 5, some PTO available year 1!
