Job summary

Ultipro in Cedar Rapids, IA is seeking a professional truck driver to operate straight/trailer equipment and support loading, unloading, and securing loads in a safe and compliant manner.

You will conduct thorough pre/post-trip inspections, perform light maintenance, and complete required paperwork. The role requires independent work, adherence to DOT/FMCSA regulations, and successful completion of pre-employment screenings. Equal opportunity employer.

Qualifications

  • CDL and valid DOT health card required.
  • 2 years verifiable driving experience preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of DOT and FMCSA regulations (safety, logs, hours of service).
  • Ability to work independently and follow instructions.

Responsibilities

  • Operate a straight/heavy truck or tractor-trailer to transport equipment.
  • Plan and perform loading/unloading of equipment safely.
  • Secure loads using rope, chains, and binders per DOT/state laws.
  • Complete pre/post-trip inspections for mechanical/safety issues.
  • Perform basic truck maintenance (fueling, fluid checks).
  • Follow safety training as required by position.
  • Handle paperwork as needed and perform other duties.

Job description

  • Operate a straight/heavy truck or tractor-trailer to transport equipment
  • Plan and perform the loading and unloading of equipment in a safe manner
  • Secure load with appropriate rope, chains and binders, etc. as required by DOT and/or state laws
  • Complete pre and post-trip inspections to check for mechanical and safety issues
  • Basic truck maintenance such as fueling, checking fluid levels and addressing minor mechanical issues
  • Safety training as required by position
  • Paperwork filing and maintenance as needed
  • Perform other duties as assigned
Essential Education and Qualifications:
  • Must be eligible to drive a company vehicle
  • Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) and valid DOT health card
  • Strong knowledge and understanding of DOT and FMCSA regulations including safety standards, logging regulations, hours of service requirements, and controlled substance and alcohol regulations
  • Must have 2 years verifiable experience
  • Ability to work independently and follow instructions
Physical Demands:
  • Ability to lift and maneuver 75 pounds
  • Work in all weather conditions
  • Must be able to meet all physical requirements of the job including sitting for long periods of time
  • Must be able to endure activity involved with the job which may include prolonged and repeated lifting, bending, crouching, crawling, climbing, kneeling, reaching, standing and walking
