Job summary

The City of Foley is seeking a Commercial Sanitation Operator to run front-load garbage trucks and knuckle boom loaders on assigned routes. A CDL is required, and you will lead other crew members while following established procedures. The role reports to the Commercial Sanitation Crew Leader.

You'll perform routine maintenance, deliver dumpsters, and communicate with the public and internal teams. A high school diploma plus two years' related experience is expected, along with a valid CDL

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent and two years of related experience.
• Valid Class A or B CDL Driver’s License.
• Clean driving history and ability to pass background checks.

Responsibilities

• Drives and operates front-load garbage trucks on designated routes.
• Operates knuckle boom loader for landfill collection and removal.
• Delivers dumpsters and replaces old ones at customer sites.
• Performs vehicle maintenance using tools like grease gun and pressure washer.
• Logs route information, maintenance, and addresses.
• Interacts with the public, supervisors, and landfill personnel.
• Operates a range of trucks including front-load, knuckle boom, flatbed and pickup.
