Job summary

Airgas is hiring a CDL B Route Driver in Greenville, SC to safely deliver compressed gas cylinders and Dewars from a branch to local customers. The role involves loading, unloading, pre/post trip inspections, and maintaining professional customer relationships.

The ideal candidate will have a valid CDL with hazmat and airbrake endorsements, 1 year of CDL driving experience or recent trucking school completion, and the ability to lift heavy cylinders.

Qualifications

• Valid Class A or B CDL with HAZMAT & Airbrake endorsements.
• Maintain appropriate driver's license, medical card & endorsements.
• No more than two traffic convictions: OR two at-fault accidents in the last 3 years; or no more than a combination of one traffic conviction and one at-fault accident in the last 3 years.
• No driving while under the influence of alcohol or a controlled substance within the last seven years.
• Must be able to work in a drug-free environment.
• Be able to regularly lift 75lbs and move more than 125lbs with the aid of material handling equipment.
• Must have 1 year of CDL driving experience in the last 5 years or provide proof of a trucking school certificate completed in the last 12 months.

Responsibilities

• Perform pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections.
• Load and unload the truck daily with gas cylinders, Dewars & supplies.
• Nurture courteous & professional relationships with customers.
• Support deliveries in a timely manner.
• Safely secure and Unsecure cylinders.
• Complete deliveries on customer property sites using a hand cart; physically active role emphasized.
