Job summary

Airgas is hiring a CDL Route Driver in Indianapolis, IN, to safely transport, load, and unload compressed gas cylinders while maintaining meticulous documentation and vehicle safety inspections.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 21 years of age.
• Class A CDL.
• HazMat endorsement or ability to obtain within 60 days of hire.
• At least 1 year of verifiable commercial driving experience within the last 5 years.
• DOT Clearinghouse verification from previous employers is required.
• Must maintain a drug-free workplace.
• Ability to lift 25–75 lbs., and up to 100+ lbs. periodically.

Responsibilities

• Operate a Class B Hazmat vehicle to deliver compressed and liquid gas cylinders, as well as hard goods, along designated routes.
• Collect empty cylinders from customers and address inquiries to ensure complete satisfaction.
• Record all transactions accurately and obtain necessary customer signatures.
• Handle loading and unloading of all materials.
• Conduct thorough pre- and post-trip vehicle inspections and report issues for safety compliance.
• Maintain a professional appearance and represent Airgas during deliveries.
