Job summary

Airgas is hiring a CDL Route Driver in Bloomington, IL. The role involves delivering compressed gas cylinders and hard goods, loading/unloading, and maintaining meticulous delivery records. Workdays are Monday through Friday, with a 6 am start and home daily.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 21 years of age.
• Class A or B CDL holder.
• Hazmat endorsement or able to obtain within 60 days of hire.
• At least 1 year of verifiable commercial driving experience in the last 5 years.
• Pass Airgas background and motor vehicle checks.
• DOT Clearinghouse verification required.
• Ability to lift 25–75 lbs, occasionally 76+ lbs.
• Willingness to work outdoors in varying temperatures.
• Able to maintain a drug-free workplace and follow safety rules.

Responsibilities

• Operate a Class B Hazmat vehicle to deliver compressed and liquid gas cylinders and hard goods on designated routes.
• Collect empty cylinders from customers and address inquiries to ensure satisfaction.
• Record all transactions and obtain customer signatures.
• Load and unload materials safely and efficiently.
• Perform thorough pre- and post-trip vehicle inspections and report issues.
• Maintain a professional appearance and represent Airgas during deliveries.
