Job summary

Airgas is hiring a CDL Class A Route Driver for Indianapolis, IN. The role involves delivering compressed and liquid gas cylinders, loading/unloading, and maintaining safety and documentation. You will interact with customers, manage signatures, and operate forklifts as needed.

Home daily with a structured weekday schedule and a comprehensive benefits package. Preferred candidates hold a Hazmat endorsement or plan to obtain it within 60 days, with at least one year of verifiable CDL experience

Qualifications

• Must be at least 21 years old.
• 1 year of verifiable commercial driving experience within the last 5 years.
• Class A CDL.
• Hazmat endorsement or ability to obtain within 60 days of hire.
• DOT Clearinghouse verification from previous employers.
• Ability to routinely lift 25-75 lbs, occasional 76+ lbs.
• Willingness to work outdoors in changing temperatures.
• Ability to maintain a drug-free workplace.
• Adherence to safety regulations and policies.

Responsibilities

• Operate a Class A Hazmat vehicle to deliver compressed and liquid gas cylinders, and hard goods along designated routes.
• Collect empty cylinders and address inquiries to ensure customer satisfaction.
• Record all transactions and obtain customer signatures.
• Handle loading and unloading of all materials.
• Conduct thorough pre- and post-trip vehicle inspections and maintain safety compliance.
• Maintain a professional appearance and represent the company during deliveries.
