Job summary

GFL Environmental Inc. is seeking a dependable CDL driver to operate roll-off trucks on assigned routes, collect waste and recyclables, and perform pre-trip inspections. You will secure loads, ensure tarps are closed, and dump loads safely.

The role requires adherence to safety standards, clear reporting, and effective communication with supervisors. Candidates should have a high school diploma or GED and a valid CDL, with about a year of driving experience preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is desired.
• Possess valid Commercial Driver’s License (CDL).
• One year of satisfactory driving experience with commercial vehicles preferred.
• Must meet safety-sensitive criteria per company standards.
• Ability to safely drive the truck and operate equipment.

Responsibilities

• Operate Roll Off with Trailer and on-board hydraulic systems on assigned route to collect solid waste and/or recyclables.
• Ensure loads are secured and tarps closed; verify no loose trash.
• Dump loads and ensure trash is emptied from trailers.
• Complete pre-trip and post-trip safety inspections and required reports.
• Communicate vehicle mechanical issues to supervisor or mechanic immediately.
• Maintain route quality standards as predetermined by management.
• Follow safety standards and company policies while operating vehicle and equipment.
• Keep vehicle clean and wear required PPE at all times.
• Maintain accurate service records and assist with routing improvements.
• May require overtime as needed.
