Job summary

Waste Pro USA Inc. in New York is seeking energetic CDL drivers to operate residential refuse trucks on pre-assigned routes. You will perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections, load and unload, and maintain written records in accordance with DOT guidelines.

Qualifications

• Must have a Class A or B CDL valid for the state in which the position works; requires a clean driving record.
• Must be at least 21 years of age or older
• Understand DOT and State requirements for operators of commercial motor vehicles.
• Hear in the normal audio range with or without correction
• See in the normal visual range with or without correction
• Exhibit normal range of body motion
• Follow designated refuse routes and schedules
• Understand and carry out oral and written instructions
• Maintain written records and service responses
• Speak/read English well enough to communicate with customers, co-workers, dispatch and supervisors

Responsibilities

• Safely drives truck on pre-established route in accordance with company policy and DOT guidelines.
• Provides courteous and expeditious customer service on refuse operations.
• Ensures garbage/recyclables are picked up and transferred properly; may require back door access.
• Performs daily pre and post-trip inspections and safety checks.
• Maintains clean truck; inspects under hood and tires; checks fluids.
• Manages manual duties in cleanup of scattered refuse; operates truck hydraulics.
• Prepares, maintains, and submits required company and regulatory reports.
• Responsible for all persons working on vehicle during the route.
• Complies with all DOT/state requirements for CMV operators.
• May be required to work during emergency situations.
