Job summary

Waste Pro is seeking a high-performing trash collection operator in Asheville, NC. You will drive a front, side, rear, or roll-off refuse truck along a pre-set route, perform pre/post trip inspections, and ensure safe, timely pickups.

You will supervise helpers on routes, maintain equipment, complete required reports, and comply with DOT/state regulations. Must communicate clearly with customers and dispatch; physical tasks include lifting and outdoor work in varying weather.

Qualifications

• Must have Class A or B CDL valid for the state in which the position works.
• Requires 2 years of waste industry driving experience within the past 7 years.
• Must be at least 21 years of age or older.
• Ability to read and write English well enough to communicate with customers, dispatch, and supervisors.

Responsibilities

• Safely drives truck on pre-established routes and adheres to DOT regulations.
• Provides courteous customer service to the public and customers.
• Ensures proper pickup and transfer of garbage and recyclables.
• Performs daily pre- and post-trip inspections and DVIRs.
• Maintains truck cleanliness and conducts basic maintenance checks.
• Completes required reports and documents.
• May assist other routes or attend community events as needed.
• Responsible for all persons working on the vehicle during the route.
