Job summary

Tazewell County ETSB is seeking a Highway Maintenance Worker to perform routine and seasonal highway maintenance, snow plowing, and equipment upkeep for the County's roadways. This role requires operating heavy equipment, performing sign work, and participating in required drug testing, with a rotating on-call schedule.

Work hours are standard daytime shifts with overtime opportunities; a valid CDL-B is required with potential to upgrade. Union benefits apply.

Qualifications

• CDL license class B required with ability to obtain Class A within 6 months.
• Must have and maintain an operating telephone.
• Experience in maintenance tasks: driving trucks, plowing, patching, and equipment upkeep.

Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain equipment for highway upkeep and snow removal.
• Perform pavement maintenance, patching, shoulder work, and tile repair as needed.
• Repair and replace signs; assist with ROW mowing and general grounds upkeep.
• Participate in random drug and alcohol testing as required.
