Qualifications

• One year of experience or training in the maintenance or repair of mechanical or electronic office equipment, precision machinery, or electronic/electrical systems.
• One year of experience or training in the installation, repair or maintenance of computer equipment or systems (hardware and/or software).
• Possession of a CompTIA A+ Certification.
• Must possess an appropriate Federal Communications Commission (FCC) radio-telephone license when working with marine and aviation transmitting equipment or with radar.

Responsibilities

• Installs, repairs, and maintains electronic traffic signal systems, solid-state computerized controllers, and vehicle detection equipment.
• Inspects the installation of new traffic signals and flashing beacons, including wiring and cables, computerized signal controllers, and electronic signal heads.
• Performs programming changes on computerized traffic signal controllers and diagnoses data communication equipment in coordinated traffic systems.
• Install, repair, and maintain electrical systems and equipment including high-voltage systems, lighting, HVAC, emergency power plants, control panels, and power distribution.
• Read and interpret electrical blueprints, schematics, and layouts; assist with equipment layout and preventive maintenance of HVAC and related systems.
