Job summary

The Maryland-National Capital Park and Planning Commission - MC Parks is hiring a Principal Parks/Facilities Maintenance Worker-CDL for Green Farm Multi-Agency Service Park in Gaithersburg, MD. The role involves hands-on maintenance of parks, facilities, and athletic spaces with CDL requirements and leadership responsibilities.

You will operate trucks and heavy equipment, supervise crew members, and ensure safety standards while supporting park operations.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Four years of groundskeeping or park maintenance experience.
• Valid driver's license; CDL within 12 months may be required.
• Certifications including pesticide/fertilizer and playground safety may be required.

Responsibilities

• Operate CDL vehicles, trucks and heavy equipment.
• Maintain park grounds, athletic fields, playgrounds, buildings and facilities.
• Perform trail and tree maintenance and basic repairs in carpentry, painting, plumbing, electrical, masonry.
• Provide guidance to maintenance crew and enforce safety procedures.
