Commonwealth of Pennsylvania's PennDOT is seeking motivated individuals to become CDL Operator Trainees, learning to operate trucks, loaders, and maintenance equipment while gaining safety and maintenance know-how for highway and bridge operations.

In this full-time role, you will undergo hands-on training, perform manual tasks, follow safety protocols, monitor worksites, support environmental actions, and assist crews with roadway maintenance tasks.

Qualifications

• Active Pennsylvania non-commercial Class C Driver's License required.
• Active Pennsylvania Class A or B Commercial Driver Learner's Permit by first day.
• Active Medical Examiner’s Certificate per FMCSA Regulations by first day.

Responsibilities

• Learn to operate trucks, loaders and other equipment with safety checks.
• Perform manual maintenance tasks using hand and power tools.
• Follow safety procedures, report incidents and wear PPE.
• Monitor surroundings, identify hazards and communicate risks.
• Carry out environmental protection steps related to maintenance work.
• Assist crews with roadway and bridge maintenance duties.
