Job summary

TXO is seeking a skilled Mini Excavator Operator / CDL Driver to support underground utility, telecom, and fiber optic projects across the Southeastern US. You will handle trenching, potholing, site prep, and equipment transport, working with HDD crews and ensuring high safety and quality standards.

The role requires a valid CDL, 2+ years of mini excavator experience, and ability to read plans. Overtime and travel to project sites are expected as needed; a strong safety record is essential.

Qualifications

• Valid CDL with clean driving record.
• Minimum 2 years operating mini excavators in utility/construction.
• Knowledge of utility locating practices and damage prevention.
• Ability to safely pull equipment trailers.
• Ability to read and interpret construction plans and markings.
• Strong understanding of safety procedures and PPE requirements.
• Willingness to work outdoors in varying weather conditions and overtime.

Responsibilities

• Operate mini excavators safely on telecom, fiber optic, and utility projects.
• Perform trenching, backfilling, potholing, and excavation per specs.
• Expose utilities safely using approved methods.
• Conduit tie-ins and HDPE work per standards and specs.
• Inspect equipment for safe operation and perform pre/post trip checks.
• Read locates, prints, and project plans; ensure proper clearances.
