Job summary

SAGE Truck Driving School is seeking a CDL driving instructor to train the next generation of drivers. No teaching experience required.

Qualified candidates will hold a valid Class A CDL and have at least two years of trucking experience with a clean driving record.

Qualifications

• Valid Class A CDL License.
• Minimum two (2) years of practical trucking experience that demonstrates instructional competency.
• A safe CDL A driving record as determined by the SAGE Safety Department.
• Knowledge/Skill: Demonstrated knowledge of the principles and practices of safe truck driving and all laws and regulations for tractor-trailer interstate operations.
• Attitude: Professionalism, respect, motivation, maturity, and safety in driving instructor roles.
• All truck driving instructors must have knowledge, skill, and performance abilities that exceed curriculum objectives.
• Regulatory Compliance: Meet minimum qualifications for interstate tractor-trailer drivers per FMCSA Part 391 and pass DOT drug/alcohol screen.

Responsibilities

• Driving instructors communicate instructions to students, assess student performance, and provide guidance on performing maneuvers on a skills driving range and on roads in 4–12 hour shifts.
