Job summary

Central Bucks School District is seeking CDL Trainers for the Transportation Department. Openings are for the 2026/2027 school year, with compensation of $28.18 per hour plus $1.00 per hour, and 2-4 hours per day, 10-month position. Responsibilities include presenting the PA School Bus Driver Training Course and coaching new driver trainees to meet state requirements.

Position may require summer work as needed; EOEs. Location is the Transportation Center and Transportation Department.

Qualifications

• Must possess a current CDL with a school Bus, Passenger and Air Brake endorsements.
• Must pass the State certified 20-hour course for CDL Trainers and maintain certification with the State.
• Must have at least 2 years' experience as a bus driver.

Responsibilities

• Present the Pennsylvania School Bus Driver Training Course to prospective driver applicants.
• Coach/train new driver trainees to pass all State requirements for CDL.
• Conduct driver recertification skills tests as required by the State.
• Work as a team member, communicate effectively, follow written and verbal instructions, and complete assigned tasks.

POSITION: CDL Instructor (Multiple Openings)

LOCATION: Transportation Department

AVAILABLE: 2026/2027 School Year

COMPENSATION: $28.18* p/hr (or current driver rate) + $1.00 p/hour

HOURS: 2-4 hours p/day between runs; Exact hours TBD 10-month position

DESCRIPTION: CBSD is currently accepting applications for CDL Trainers. CDL trainers must have ability to effectively present the Pennsylvania School Bus Driver Training Course to prospective school bus driver applicants. Must also demonstrate motivation and commitment to coach/train new driver trainees in passing all State requirements needed to obtain their CDL license, with S.P and Air Brake endorsements. Will also conduct driver Recertification Skills tests required by the State. The successful candidate(s) must work as a team member, communicate effectively, follow written and verbal instructions, complete assigned tasks and be courteous when dealing with people.

May be required to work over summer as needed.

Other duties as assigned.
