Job summary

Piedmont Technical College is seeking an adjunct faculty member (temporary, part-time) to teach at the Lex D. Walters Campus and/or our six county campuses in Laurens, Newberry, Edgefield, Saluda, Abbeville, and McCormick.

Courses may be day/evening, online, and dual credit for high schools. Responsibilities include teaching diverse classes using varied methods, developing CDL trucking school materials, ensuring regulatory compliance, coordinating with partner colleges, and representing the

Qualifications

• Must hold a valid Class A South Carolina Commercial Driver's License with all required endorsements.
• 2 years of behind-the-wheel truck driving experience.
• Minimum 100,000 miles of over-the-road driving experience.
• 10-year driving record, SLED background check, DOT Medical Certificate and drug testing required.

• Teach varying schedules to a diverse student body at multiple locations.
• Develop and teach CDL trucking school materials.
• Ensure compliance with all federal and state laws and industry regulations.
• Work with partner colleges to ensure safe and robust CDL training programs.

Job description

Piedmont Technical College is accepting applications for an adjunct faculty member (temporary, part-time) to teach at the Lex D. Walters Campus and/or our six county campuses in Laurens, Newberry, Edgefield, Saluda, Abbeville, and McCormick during the day/evenings, on-line and dual credit instructors to teach in high schools. Applications will be reviewed on an as needed basis. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, teaching varying schedules to a diverse student body in accordance with the established syllabi at a variety of locations utilizing technology and using a variety of teaching methods in instruction.

Responsibilities

• Teaching varying schedules to a diverse student body in accordance with the established syllabi at a variety of locations utilizing technology and using a variety of teaching methods in instruction.
• Develop and teach the CDL trucking school materials.
• Ensure compliance of CDL trucking school and remain current with all federal and state laws and industry regulations.
• Work with partner colleges to ensure safe and robust CDL training programs.
• Represent PTC at job fairs and other events, as needed.
• Contribute to strategic marketing development for program expansions.

Requirements

• Applicants must be at least 21 years of age, hold a valid Class A South Carolina Commercial Driver's License with all required endorsements and meet all requirements stated in the S.C. Code of Regulations Chapter 38, Department of Public Safety, 38-215.
• In addition, applicants must meet all of the State and Federal Regulations in 90-115 of the SCDMV Chapter 90 Article 2 DMV Sub Article, listed under Statutory Authority Truck Driver Training Schools, as well as PTC employment requirements.
• 2 years of behind-the-wheel truck driving experience are required, and applicants must be able to provide verifiable proof of a minimum 100,000 miles of over-the-road driving experience.
• A 10-year driving record, SLED background check, DOT Medical Certificate and drug testing are required.

These are temporary, part-time positions.
