Piedmont Technical College is seeking an adjunct instructor to teach CDL trucking courses at the Lex D. Walters Campus and six county campuses in Laurens, Newberry, Edgefield, Saluda, Abbeville, and McCormick. Classes may be day/evening, online, or dual credit, depending on need and schedules.

The role includes developing CDL materials, ensuring regulatory compliance, and representing the college at job fairs. This is a temporary, part-time position with teaching across multiple venues.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 21 years old.
• Hold a valid Class A South Carolina Commercial Driver's License with all required endorsements.
• Meet all requirements stated in the S.C. Code of Regulations Chapter 38, Department of Public Safety, 38-215.
• Meet all State and Federal Regulations in 90-115 of the SCDMV Chapter 90 Article 2 DMV Sub Article.
• 2 years of behind-the-wheel truck driving experience required.
• Provide verifiable proof of a minimum 100,000 miles of over-the-road driving experience.
• A 10-year driving record, SLED background check, DOT Medical Certificate and drug testing required.

Responsabilités

• Teach at the Lex D. Walters Campus and six county campuses (Laurens, Newberry, Edgefield, Saluda, Abbeville, McCormick) with day/evening, online and dual credit formats.
• Develop and teach CDL trucking school materials; ensure compliance with CDL training laws and industry standards.
• Represent Piedmont Technical College at job fairs and other events; support program expansion through marketing efforts.
• Work with partner colleges to ensure safe, robust CDL training programs; utilize technology and varied teaching methods to reach a diverse student body.
