Job summary

DeAngelo Contracting Services seeks a CDL Technician to support highway maintenance tasks in Georgia. Trains in routine maintenance, including building/clearing culverts, mowing, patching pavements, and roadside repairs under supervision.

Requires Class B CDL, 18+ years old, and a clean Georgia driver’s license with 3+ years of driving. Competitive compensation and benefits accompany this role.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent is required.
• Class B CDL Required.
• Must be at least 18 years of age or older.
• Must possess a valid Georgia driver's license with at least 3 years of clean driving.
• Must have demonstrated training and/or experience to perform essential job functions in roadway maintenance.

Responsibilities

• Perform highway/roadway routine maintenance tasks under supervision.
• Support in cleaning/clearing culverts, mowing, and brush clearance along roadsides.
• Assist in patching pavements, shoulders, and related repairs.
• Support in storm cleanup and emergency response.
• Operate equipment used in highway maintenance and use hand/power tools.

Job Description

DCS (DeAngelo Contracting Services) is seeking a highly skilled and motivated CDL Technician that will work under close supervision. Maintenance laborer workers assist in a variety of transportation maintenance services. Trains in Highway/Roadway Routine Maintenance activities. Incumbents at this level may require additional training or experience to gain full proficiency in some or all the job responsibilities. Examples include cleaning and clearing culverts, mowing, or clearing brush from roadsides, patching broken or eroded pavements and shoulders, assisting in storm cleanup, repair of fences, sign repair, litter/debris removal, and emergency response.

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Ability to work in adverse weather conditions.
• Ability to lift moderately heavy objects, bend, climb, stand, or walk for long periods of time; possess accurate eye-hand coordination.
• Ability to adapt to changing situations with work plans and work schedules due to workload or season display.
• Ability to operate equipment used in highway maintenance.
• Ability to use hand tools such as shovels, rakes, brooms, etc.
• Ability to use power tools such as chainsaws, pole saws, weed eaters, backpack blowers, etc.
• A high standard of work ethic and commitment toward work
• Any combination of training or experience that would enable the applicant to perform essential job functions in maintenance of roadway activities.

Qualifications

EDUCATION

• High School Diploma or Equivalent is required.

EXPERIENCE

• Class B CDL Required.
• Must be at least 18 years of age or older.
