Qualifications

• Valid Class A or B Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) or obtain within 90 days of employment.
• Must pass a drug test as a condition of employment.
• Ability to lift 50 pounds and perform physical activities for long periods.
• Able to endure inclement weather while performing duties.
• Ability to operate specialty traffic equipment (e.g., bucket trucks, paint equipment).
• Work as part of a team and follow directions.

Responsibilities

• Operate highway maintenance and traffic equipment to repair and clean highways and rights-of-way.
• Perform snow and ice removal and winter operations.
• Move and load supplies and materials; inspect and maintain equipment.
• Conduct regular inspections and preventative maintenance; refuel and complete pre-trip checks.
• Perform emergency response tasks such as traffic control and setting up signs.
• Maintain inventory and assist with district traffic materials and equipment.
