Job summary

West Virginia Department of Transportation seeks a Transportation Worker 2 Equipment Operator for Monroe County Headquarters. Responsibilities include operating skid steers, bucket trucks, loaders, and trucks; performing maintenance, repairs, and traffic control on highways.

Must have a valid Class A or B CDL, and may enter a DOL apprenticeship. Pay Grade 11H; Tier 1 hourly rate applies; overtime may be required.

Qualifications

• Valid Class A or Class B CDL required
• Apprenticeship program eligibility linked to CDL and hours
• WVDOT pays at Tier 1 hourly rate and may require overtime

Responsibilities

• Operate highway maintenance equipment and heavy vehicles
• Drive dump, flatbed, or tandem-axle trucks
• Perform minor field repairs on tires, blades, filters
• Maintain and lubricate equipment; check fluid levels
• Flagging and traffic control on construction projects
• Repair culverts, patch cement and bridge decks
• Travel may be required and valid license required
