Job summary

PUSH, Inc. in Munising, MI is hiring a CDL Directional Drill Operator/Locator (HDD) to install fiber, copper, and power cables using HDD trenchless methods in rural and urban areas. Must read prints, train teammates, and operate/maintain HDD gear with safety compliance.

Experience with Vermeer or Ditch Witch units and locating equipment is preferred; CDL Class A is required. Will travel as needed and work outdoors in all weather. Join a team dedicated to safe, efficient utility installations.

Qualifications

• Experience with Horizontal Directional Drilling around utilities in rural and urban areas.
• Ability to read prints and schematics.
• Ability to train and mentor other team members.

Responsibilities

• Operates Directional Bore equipment for installation of underground cable conduit or utilities.
• Ensure proper steering based on the noted job preparations and projections.
• Operates construction equipment to facilitate alignment, movement, and adjustment of machinery to conform to grade alignment specification.
• Maintain bore profile plots and provide customer with directional drilling data.
• Abide all company and manufacturer safety procedures and industry safety standards; attend mandatory safety meetings.
• Responsible for inspection and maintenance of all equipment; perform routine maintenance.
• Reads utility locates and coordinates day lighting of facilities.
• Assist with all aspects of the job including basic labor responsibilities.
• Ensure setup and cleanup of work site is completed properly, including traffic and pedestrian control measures.
