Job summary

Roadrunner’s Nashville operation seeks experienced CDL drivers for essential duties spanning pickup and delivery, dock operations, and yard hostling. You will operate local Class A/B tractors on designated routes, perform pre-trip inspections, and manage freight with scanners.

The role emphasizes safety, DOT compliance, and teamwork. Flexibility for shifts and weather conditions is required, with exposure to heavy equipment and terminal operations in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Valid CDL (Class A or B) as applicable to equipment
• Clean driving record meeting DOT standards
• Ability to pass DOT physical and pre-employment drug screen
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and operate forklifts/pallet jacks
• Ability to work in varying weather conditions (indoors/outdoors)
• Strong work ethic, reliability and team-first attitude
• Flexibility to work varying shifts
• Ability to read, write, understand English including shipping docs

Responsibilities

• Operate local P&D driving with Class A/B trucks
• Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections per DOT and policy
• Safely load/unload, secure freight on dock
• Use scanners and tracking tech for documentation
• Coordinate trailer movements with dispatch and dock
• Maintain safe dock and yard environment
• Communicate with team and adapt to changing demands
