Job summary

Roadmaster Drivers School is seeking a CDL Examiner to administer state CDL examinations in accordance with applicable regulations and company policies. The role requires a valid CDL Class A license with endorsements, a clean driving record, and the ability to pass DOT medical and drug testing.

Candidates must communicate effectively, meet physical and leadership requirements, and be prepared to maintain testing equipment and records.

Qualifications

• Must hold a valid CDL Class A license with all endorsements as required by the Company.
• Clean driving record with no moving violations within 3 years; at least 3 years out-of-town or local driving experience or as acceptable to the Company.
• Ability to pass and maintain a DOT physical, DOT drug screen and hair follicle test (HFT), and allow post-accident/random/suspicion-based testing.
• Must currently possess or obtain required local, state and Federal approvals to be certified as a CDL Examiner.

Responsibilities

• Administer CDL examinations per state and Federal rules, regulations, policies, and Company procedures.
• Ensure safe driving and operation of testing equipment; intervene when test vehicle is unsafe.
• Maintain reliability and integrity of CDL exams, including Pre-trip, Basic Skills and Over the Road tests; report discrepancies.
• Attend CDL refresher classes and stay updated on testing procedures; maintain credibility as a third-party state examiner.
• Maintain professional conduct, ethics, and adherence to policies; treat others with respect.
• Submit all test evaluations, forms, and reports accurately and timely.
• Wear appropriate uniform and keep testing equipment maintained.
• Assist training department when available, without double-testing individuals already trained.
• Maintain regular, reliable attendance and perform other duties as assigned.
