Job summary

Caltrans is seeking a CT Equipment Operator II in Madera County to operate heavy equipment and perform labor-intensive highway maintenance and emergency response tasks under supervision.

Required qualifications include a valid California CDL (Class A) with Tank Vehicle endorsement, drug screening, and a valid driver's license. This is a permanent intermittent position with up to 1,500 hours annually and in-office work.

Qualifications

• Valid California CDL required; must provide CDL number, class, expiration, endorsements
• Drug screening required prior to hire
• Valid unrestricted Class A commercial driver’s license, with Tank Vehicle (N) endorsement
• Possession of a valid driver’s license when operating state-owned/leased vehicle

Responsibilities

• Operate equipment, construction machinery, vehicles and tools to maintain the state highway system
• Perform labor-intensive work during maintenance and emergency operations
• Follow supervision of Maintenance Supervisor and adhere to duty statements
