Job summary

Caltrans is looking for an Equipment Operator II to perform heavy equipment operation in support of highway maintenance in Yuba County. You will operate a variety of equipment, from passenger vehicles to heavy-duty trucks and snow removal gear, under supervision and with leadership endorsement.

A valid Class A CDL with tank endorsement is required and overtime may be needed. Key duties include operating multiple pieces of equipment, complying with safety protocols, and working outdoors in

Qualifications

• Valid Class A commercial driver’s license with tank endorsement.
• Experience operating a range of maintenance equipment is preferred.
• Willingness to work outdoors in varying conditions and overtime as needed.

Responsibilities

• Operate equipment including passenger vehicles, pickups, vans, dump trucks, loaders, graders, tractors, excavators, backhoes and snow removal gear.
• Work under supervision of Maintenance Supervisor and Leadworker; may deputize in their absence.
• Adhere to safety gear and PPE requirements and perform duties in accordance with Caltrans procedures.
