Job summary

City of Fort Worth is seeking an Equipment Operator in the Field Operations division. You will operate dump trucks and heavy equipment across city job sites, assist with water and wastewater infrastructure, and respond to emergencies as part of an on-call roster.

This role requires a High School diploma or GED, a valid Texas CDL Class A, and at least one year of relevant experience. The position includes work outdoors in varying weather and offers generous benefits and a sign-on incentive.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Valid Texas CDL Class A with clean driving record.
• Minimum of 1 year in operating motorized equipment including dump trucks with trailers.
• Ability to successfully pass a test-out assessment on heavy equipment.
• Ability to obtain Water Distribution Class D or Wastewater Collection I license within 12 months.
• Ability to pass physical, drug screen, and background checks.

Responsibilities

• Operate Dump Trucks & Equipment safely on city job sites.
• Assist with construction, repair, and maintenance of water and wastewater piping systems.
• Perform manual labor for installation, repair, and maintenance of water infrastructure.
• Adhere to safety standards and regulations at all times.
• Provide field support including equipment maintenance and traffic control.
• Use hand tools and motorized equipment for construction tasks.
