Job summary

The City of Fort Worth is seeking Equipment Operators (Dump Truck) to support the Field Operations Division. This role involves operating heavy equipment, assisting in water and wastewater system work, and contributing to emergency response efforts in a busy municipal setting.

Position offers a sign-on incentive of $2,000 and opportunities for advancement in a fast-growing city department. Work includes outdoor tasks, varying shifts, and potential after-hours support.

Qualifications

• At least 1 year of professional experience operating motorized equipment, including dump trucks with trailers.
• Valid Texas CDL Class A with an acceptable driving record.
• Ability to pass heavy equipment test-out during the interview process.
• Ability to obtain TCEQ Water Distribution Class D or Wastewater Collection I license within 12 months of hire.
• Ability to pass physical examination, drug screen, and education and background verification.

Responsibilities

• Operate Dump Trucks & Equipment: Safely load, transport, and unload heavy equipment and materials using dump trucks and other motorized equipment.
• Water & Wastewater Systems: Assist with the construction, repair, maintenance, and inspection of water and wastewater piping systems.
• Physical Labor: Perform manual labor for installation, repair, and maintenance of water infrastructure, including digging trenches, laying pipe, and handling materials.
• Adhere to Safety Standards: Ensure all work is performed in compliance with safety regulations, procedures, and policies.
• Field Support: Assist with field operations, including equipment maintenance, traffic control, and general construction tasks.
• Tools & Equipment Operation: Use a variety of hand tools and motorized equipment for construction, maintenance, and inspection tasks.
• Material Handling: Load and unload materials, equipment, and tools on-site.
