Shirley Contracting Company is seeking a dedicated CDL driver to join our Richmond-area operations. Start time is 6:00 AM, and overtime or weekend work may be required.

You will operate company vehicles in Virginia, Maryland and the District of Columbia, ensuring safety, DOT compliance, and professional conduct on job sites. The role requires a Class B CDL with manual transmission, a clean driving record, and the ability to pass a pre-employment DOT physical and drug screen.

Qualifications

• Class B CDL is required.
• Manual transmission knowledge is required.
• Clean driving record for the last 7 years.
• Must pass pre-employment DOT physical and drug screen.
• Willing to pass background checks for secure access.
• Capable of performing manual labor tasks when needed.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate a commercial vehicle in heavy traffic, on construction sites, and in tight areas across VA, MD and DC.
• Follow DOT rules and maintain compliance with regulations.
• Complete daily pre- and post-trip inspections and maintain inspection reports.
• Maintain daily mileage logs and work tickets.
• Keep vehicles clean and in good working order.
• Support health and safety policies and procedures.
• Build positive relationships with co-workers and supervisors.
