Job summary

Johnstone Supply is seeking a COS Material Handler/Driver to receive, fill, and ship products efficiently while ensuring safe transport and timely delivery to customers and store locations. The role covers warehouse tasks, order fulfillment, and inventory cycles, with Monday–Friday hours and occasional Saturdays.

The position requires a valid driver’s license and forklift certification, with opportunities to handle hazardous materials and operate various warehouse systems.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required; 1+ years truck driving or 1 year operating Johnstone vehicles.
• Experience operating forklift and other warehouse equipment safely.
• Preferred: 6+ months warehouse or distribution experience, preferably HVAC/R.
• Experience with RF scanners and inventory management systems.
• Knowledge of HVAC wholesale industry and OSHA safety regulations.

Responsibilities

• Operate basic power equipment safely to locate, stack, and move products.
• Receive product by unloading trucks using forklift or pallet jack.
• Inspect freight for damage, verify quantities against packing lists, and complete paperwork.
• Ensure products are labeled with verified bar codes and stock numbers.
• Pick, pack, and stack orders; scan items and file paperwork.
• Document hazardous material shipments and complete required paperwork.
• Prepare orders: palletize, wrap, load trucks, and file paperwork.
• Maintain accuracy and efficiency standards and follow SOPs.
• Participate in inventory cycle counts and other projects.
• Assist in maintenance of warehouse machinery and equipment.
• Maintain a safe work environment, wearing protective gear and following safety rules.
• Keep required certifications for hazardous materials, forklift, etc.
• Communicate professionally with customers and coworkers.
• Drive box trucks to customer sites or store locations; load/unload; verify deliveries.
