Position Summary
To efficiently deliver products to customers safely, courteously, professionally, and in compliance with regulations and schedules.
Responsibilities
- Operate CMV vehicles safely and professionally, including combination vehicles or straight trucks over 10,001 lbs GVWR or GCWR.
- Complete pre-trip, in-route, and post-trip inspections using mobile logs.
- Unload and deliver products safely, using lift gates, hand trucks, or pallet jacks.
- Accurately complete delivery and pickup paperwork.
- Operate Powered Industrial Trucks (PIT) and Material Handling Equipment (MHE).
- Maintain product levels on shelves and displays, transporting products between truck, backroom, and store floor with MHE.
- Communicate any route barriers to supervisors for customer or dispatch updates.
- Report unsafe working conditions.
- Complete all required training and certifications.
- Follow company policies, store policies, and all applicable laws including DOT regulations.
- Provide excellent customer service, resolving concerns effectively.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum Skills and Experience
- At least 21 years old or meet state legal age requirements.
- Valid Class A CDL with acceptable driving record.
- At least one year of driving experience with a Class A CDL or military equivalent.
- Recent safe driving experience within the past 12 months in a similar CMV.
- One year of work experience involving heavy lifting in environments like distribution centers, farms, or construction.
- Knowledge of DOT regulations.
- Must pass post-offer drug test, background check, and DOT physical.
Preferred Skills and Experience
- High school diploma or GED.
- Beverage industry experience.
- Customer service experience, including issue resolution.
- Experience with manual or powered pallet jacks.
Physical Demands and Work Environment
- Repetitive lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling objects up to 50 pounds.
- Repetitive pushing and pulling of manual transport equipment over at least 100 yards.
- Physically exerting over sustained periods.
