Job summary

Ancora Education is seeking a CDL Driver Trainer to oversee the CDL training program at our Allentown location. The role requires delivering instruction in driving, safety procedures, and vehicle inspections, while maintaining a positive learning environment and upholding policy compliance.

Ideal candidates will have a valid CDL with required class level, a minimum of 2 years on‑the‑road experience within the last 5 years, and the ability to pass DOT physicals and drug screens.

Qualifications

• Valid CDL with the appropriate class level required for the position.
• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 2 years of verifiable on-the-road experience within the last 5 years.
• MVR and background check including a drug screening.
• Ability to pass a DOT physical and DOT drug screen.
• Maintain a valid Medical Examiner Certificate and pass DOT tests as required.
• Knowledge of pre-trip inspections, air-brake tests, and CDL driving basics.

Responsibilities

• Promotes and maintains a positive learning environment.
• Convenes classes per start and end times.
• Administers written tests and evaluates grades.
• Conducts pre-trip inspections of commercial vehicles.
• Instructs air-brake tests, straight-line/backing/offset/backing, and parking maneuvers.
• Delivers instructional material and uses effective delivery techniques.
• Maintains records of student progress and attendance.
• T conducts assessments to evaluate skill attainment for CDL.
