Job summary

Ancora Education is seeking a CDL Driver Trainer to oversee all driver training functions at their location. The role requires proven longevity in the field, excellent communication, and the ability to teach over-the-road, range maneuvers, and classroom material.

Under supervision of the Program Director or Lead Trainer, you will lead classes, administer tests, and maintain student records, while modeling professionalism and fostering a positive learning environment for adult learners.

Qualifications

• Must hold valid CDL; Class level must meet position requirements.
• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 3 years of verifiable on-the-road experience within the last 5 years.
• Ability to pass DOT physical and DOT drug screen.
• Ability to instruct driving skills and pre-trip inspections.
• Strong communication, leadership, and adult-education aptitude.
• Willingness to adhere to school policies and confidentiality.

Responsibilities

• Promotes and maintains a positive learning environment.
• Convenes all assigned classes per schedule.
• Trains students in trucking/driving and conducts vehicle inspections.
• Administers written tests and evaluates grades.
• Instructs maneuvers such as pre-trip inspections, air-brake tests, backing and parking.
• Maintains accurate records of student progress and attendance.
• Ensures safety and compliance with federal/state regulations.
• Serves as a professional role model to students and staff.
